As an established author, I receive a lot of questions from what inspired me to become a writer to my favourite romance novel. Below you will find some of the questions I get asked the most by my fans and supporters.
If you have any questions other than the ones mentioned here, feel free to reach me here: Contact.
If you were to give your younger self advice about writing, what would it be?
Write the full manuscript and don’t set it aside. A finished manuscript either it’s good or bad, is a finished one. That is what we re-write for. If I would have known I loved to write novels, I would have started earlier.
What inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve always loved a good book and experience great joy when reading. However, I didn’t start writing until one day in 2013, when my best friend and a fellow coworker encouraged me to. I never thought I could write a novel, but the next thing I knew, I had already finished writing one!
Why did you want to specialize in contemporary romantic fiction novels inside of another genre?
I’m a softy for romance and I like a good ending where the hero and heroine finally get together. So it wasn’t difficult for me to decide that I wanted to be a Romance author!
What’s your favourite romantic comedy?
My favourite would be When Harry Met Sally (1989). I just love Meg Ryan but maybe it ‘s because I grew up watching all her movies.
What inspired the Pierce Brothers’ Series?
A couple of my favourite authors’ are Melody Anne, Bella Andre and Ruth Cardello. They write about family sticks together through thick and thin.
When I started writing about Max Pierce I knew I wanted to have a Pierce Brother’s Series, because even though they were hardcore businessmen, they have a soft spot. but they also want a woman that doesn’t take crap from anyone. I have brothers and a sister, even though we have differences I know that if they needed me I would be there for them no matter what.
Are you planning on writing any other series or novels after the Pierce Brothers’ Series?
Yes, I’ve already written Joe Harrison, a novel about Megan’s brother. I plan on having the world of the Pierce brothers’ continue in several novels and for the current characters to have cameos in the upcoming books! It is all about family, after all. So be sure to expect a lot of drama!
I’m also thinking of renaming the series, but I haven’t decided on the new name yet.
How did you come up with the names for your characters?
I’ve always wanted (or should I say if I would have had) children and I would have named them Max, and Megan. are one of my favourite names. When it came to Pierce, I google last names and it took me a couple of hours to find a strong name. Max Pierce, was a strong name and just sounded right. As for Megan, I loved the last name Harrison. Maybe it was because it was from a book I previously read, but when I attached both together it felt right.
What was the most difficult scene to write in Billionaire’s Mistake & Billionaire’s Forgiveness?
I’d have to say love scenes. They are difficult to write if you don’t know what you’re talking about, what you like and/or how to write that emotion in. I’ve also written Billionaire’s Love which is the 1st novel about Max and Megan.
Are any of the scenes or characters in your novels based off of anything or anyone you know in real life?
Maybe! I know when someone loves someone unconditionally, there is nothing that would stop them to fight for the other person. A role model I would consider my Aunt and Uncle they’ve been married for 55 years and it wasn’t easy for them. What I learned from them is how two people love each other no matter what life throws at them. I wanted that kind of trust between to characters.
What advice would you give to an aspiring writer?
Writing is not easy, trust me. There are so many rules on how to write that you need to follow in order to get that perfect novel ready for print. Even I’m still learning. Most importantly, you need an editor and proofreader. You may think your book is great but with an Editor, they will tell you – about your strong points and your weakness. But if you love to write, don’t give up and most importantly finish your manuscript. You will also re-write it more than once, maybe 5-6 times if not more. It’s a lot of work but if you love what you do then do it. Never give up on what you believe in.
What’s your favourite romance novel other than your own?
Where to start?
-J.kenner – Stark Series (Nikki and Damien)
– Melody Anne – Billionaires Series & Anderson. J.S. Scott (also in her Billionaire’s Series)
There are too many to name, but most of all I adore H.M. Ward’s The Arrangements Series.
I also cannot forget Lilianna Hart. She has so many romance novels that I love. I also love the novels by Ruth Cardello and Carrie Anne Ryan. Oh and Bella Andre’s Sullivans!
