What’s your Reading Thursday?

“Okay, if you’re ready, let’s start with your hair. What dress
are you wearing?”

Megan looked at Lizzie in the mirror; she didn’t get to dress
up a lot, but tonight was special. “I’m wearing the red one! You
know, the one with the bustier.”

“Oh, you look hot in that dress; it shows off all your curves
and makes these babies come up,” Lizzie said as she grabbed
Megan’s breasts and pushed them up. Only Lizzie would be
bold enough to do such a thing to her friend.

“Hey! Stop that!” Megan said, laughing as she slapped her
friend’s hands away from her.

Megan looked at herself in the mirror as Lizzie explained what she was going to do with her hair. “So, we’ll bring up your hair here, but leave it long at the back so we can show off your shoulders in that beautiful sexy dress. I want your hair away from your face because you are a beautiful woman, and I want to show off your high cheekbones.”

Megan trusted Lizzie with her hair and makeup; she was a
true artist and could make the most ordinary person look like
a supermodel. By the time Lizzie had finished her hair, Megan
didn’t recognize herself from the woman who had entered the
salon only a short time ago. “Easy on the makeup; I don’t want
to look like a clown. I don’t like all that shit on my face. It makes
me break out.”

“Megan, would I do that to you?” Lizzie looked at her and
smiled as she reflected on a time when Megan had passed out
drunk. Megan hated clowns, so Lizzie had dressed her up in
makeup with a white face, big red lips, and a yellow nose which,
given her friend’s reaction, had proved to be a priceless moment.

“Hell, yes, you would. That stuff makes me break out after
I remove it. I can still remember the red lips I had for a week.”
Megan smiled at her, just thinking of that ugly picture she had
framed in her room.

“Oh girl, you have such lovely skin. Trust me, I will not cover
your face. I promise the makeup will be discrete. You’ll feel like
a princess once I’m done with you. Do you want another glass
of wine?”

“Just half a glass; you know me and alcohol. After two
glasses, I start to giggle for nothing. Maybe this will help calm
my nerves.”

“Since when are you nervous? You’ve been to lots of these
events, so what is so different about this one?”

“Well, Joe told us that Maggie and I need to rub up to the
significant exclusive contributors tonight. I have seen the guest list.
There are many important people coming tonight, and they
have been so generous this year, but you will never guess who
one of them is!” She looked at Lizzie in the mirror, knowing
how her friend would react once she was aware of who Josh’s
brother was. She loved Lizzie, but she also knew how protective
she could be.

“Who is coming to your big event? Is it someone that
I know?”

“Joshua Pierce.” Megan looked at her friend as she said his
name and then waited for a response.

“Oh! My! God! Meg! Have you seen that guy? He is HOT
in capital letters. The man is sex on a stick, and of all the hot
guys out there, why this guy is still single, I do not know. But he
would be the guy in every girl’s wicked fantasy. I could lick that
man all over, and I still wouldn’t have enough of his taste. Move
over chocolate, I would rather indulge in Josh Pierce …

“No, not really. I do not want anything to do with
Pierce Enterprises.”

Bingo, Megan thought, knowing that her friend had finally
put the pieces together.

“Wait a minute. Is Joshua Max’s brother?”

“Yup. Josh is younger, I think.”

“Oh shit! I’m sorry, girl. Is that why you look so gloomy
today because seeing Josh’s name reminds you of Max? I know
what he did was cruel. Meg, you need to move on, you know.
You haven’t had a relationship in so long. Why should other
men pay for someone that treated you like a piece of meat? At
least it’s not his scumbag of a brother going tonight. Honestly,
girl, if it were me, what better way to get revenge on the man
than by using his brother … play fire with fire, if you know what
I mean.” Lizzie grinned at her.

“Look who’s talking. When was the last time you went out
with someone? But yes, thank God, it’s Josh. Besides, I don’t
think I will actually meet him. I made it clear to Joe that I didn’t
want anything to do with Pierce Enterprises, so he assigned
Ethan to take care of him. Honestly, I think I would kill myself
if I ever saw Max again. I have never hated anyone like him
before. That man takes the cake.”

“Meg, Max was a real jerk. Worse, he’s scum. I still cannot
believe that after three years, you’re still thinking about him.”
Lizzie turned the chair around and looked Megan in the eyes.
“Honestly, you should go tonight and have a blast. Maybe your
handsome prince will be there tonight. All those handsome men
in suits – you never know, Meg, someone just might spike your
interest. Promise me that you will have fun, okay? Stop thinking
about Max Pierce. He’s history. Plan for your future, Meg, you
deserve to be happy.”

“I know. I think it’s time for me to move on. You’re right.
There are more out there, and they are not called Max Pierce.”

I want to thank everyone new followers it’s incredible this writing community – in 2013, I wrote my 1st MANUSCRIPT. Initially, title Billionaire’s Lost Love, but when I was going through the editing, I decided to DROP the lost and call it BILLIONAIRE’S LOVE. IT sounded more catchy to me. It took me 3 years to finally get the courage to publish this – honestly, I had no clue how to do it. So I hired someone it was an experience for sure, but I’ve learned so much from them. MEET some incredibly talented people along the way that have tough me so much in the writing industry. There are so many people out there how are trying to find their way as an Author, and it’s not easy. All I can say, “DON’T GIVE UP ON WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.” A finished manuscript either it’s good or bad it’s a work of art, and you should be proud you did it. So to all the new followers, thank you. Also, I would like to give a special thanks to Kyla Pierce, who’s Social Media skills on making my platforms look amazing and beautiful and clean thank you, Kyla .. HUGS.
Below is an excerpt of a chapter from Billionaire’s Love – Megan doesn’t feel like going to a fundraiser for a good reason. But it’s for her mom and dad, and that was reason enough to go.
