Like all good things they end!f Vacation is over. Yup over, wish I could have one more week or maybe two. LOL
Let me say, the drinking the fun with friends the laughter of seeing other people having a good time under the influence of Alchool because that is what people do on vacation they drink, they are silly, and they just let go.
But I will be honest even though the the rum was open bar drink till you are plastered. I didn’t drink that much it was resonable I have fun and relaxed, was able to write a little but not enough. I was able to finish a book I was reading, walk on the beach, dive in the ocean and have leisure time around the pool with friends. The most fun was the buggie ride ATV we did for half the day. I didn’t care how dirty I was but just seeing Derek with this big ass grin on his face was worth it. Next time I will drive it because I’m planning on going back. Puerta Plata, Gran Ventana Resort I enjoyed. The food was good the friendly faces of the bartenders the atmosphere was just great.
The highlight of the trip which I found heart breaking. A man from Scotland, came in on thursday and he was blind. How this elderly gentlemen travel from that far is just amazing and scary. Curtis, in the kindness of his heart, help this man out, cause he could see how nervous he was. This Gentlemen was travelling one last time to say goodbye to his friend that lived in PUERTO Plata. He didn’t have anyone travelling with him and how he did it was beyond me. Curtis, your kindness to take the time to make this man feel at ease and comfortable and you would go and check on him from time to time so he wasn’t alone. I’ve seen many people and it always amazes me how people react or how the look. Many people sat and chatted with him as he told his story how get became blind, and what had happened to his his family and wife, but that is not my story to tell.
So this is for you Curtis, thank you for your kindness and helping him and to my friend Denise also who talked to our new friend from Cape Breton that will going to check on him after we left. Kindness is a gift that everyone has, but some shine more than others. Be kind to one another, it will make or save someone life. I could just see how grateful this man was and worshiped Curtis and kept saying thank you. All these people that are willing to go the extra step to help a stanger had one thing in commend. THEY ARE NEWFOUNDLANDERS. So proud to have friends like that.
Cheers
