Hi all,
So what made you decide to read the book you are reading now? Series are my favorite for sure. I like reading about characters that come back from book to book. Reoccurrence characters that come in from book in a series. I love it, you feel like you’re part of the family you are reading. I like how the families stick together and how they help each other out. How they meddle into each other’s lives. But even though they can be annoying as hell, they will love and respect each other and defend each other.
Are you the person that will read a blurb or will you open the book and read the 1st chapter and say it’s worth a try? I’ve never read the back of covers,” crazy huh” if I like the cover of the book I will start to read it. I’m crazy that way. I tend to love the Romance genre, but I do love a good suspense, paranormal and thriller novel from time to time.
When I started to write Billionaire’s Love, I was finishing up many series. Yes, I’ve read Fifty Shades, who hasn’t? But I was reading a lot of Sylvia Day’s Dark Angels Series, which I fell for. J. Kenner, J.S.Scott, Melody Anne, Bella Andre, Katy Perry, Ruth Cardello, and I cannot forget H.M. Ward I love Liliana Hart. I couldn’t stop reading as soon as I finished one, I had to start another. In my eyes I don’t think I had a budget for buying books, I still don’t it’s my small pleasure in life.
A friend of mine at work, got me going on reading. I always loved having a book in my hands during the summer. One summer, I was at my brothers’ house and my niece Gabby was reading (or should I say watching Twilight). Yes, you heard me, Twilight. She told me it was about vampires and humans, which made me remember how growing up I used to love reading paranormal books. She told me that I should read it. So I took the plunge and purchased the first book in the series, without knowing if I will like them. That is when my journey of reading began. Overnight, I became a bookworm, I couldn’t get enough.
Watching TV was a thing of the past, nothing interested me. One day after many months of reading different types of books, I told my friend, I could do this. Silly me right? Thinking I could write a book. I was so determined that one night, I was sitting with my laptop while my partner Derek was watching his UFC fight. The next thing I knew, I had 3 chapters written. They weren’t the best, in my perspective, but my friend read it, and she knew I had something good unfolding.
I created Billionaire’s Love, based in the West Island of Montreal, Quebec. I worked and lived in the West Island, so it was easy to write about places I knew. The places I used to hang out with friends, might not be there any longer, but they hold dearly in my heart, as friends come together on a Friday night. I wanted a strong character for my heroine/heroin. Megan Harrison comes from a family of two overprotective brothers and older sister. Being in the construction field, she had to prove to be the best in a man’s world. But Megan had secrets that her family didn’t know about and she wanted to keep it that way. But when her past returned to haunt her, would she overcome the hurt she still felt inside of her? Max Pierce was Megan 1st temptation, 1st love, she believes is words spoken, promises said, her heart was chartered as he walks away, leaving only a note..
Max Pierce, well he’s a HOT in my book! When I created Max I envisioned him looking like Henry Cavill, but with green eyes. Dark hair and at least 6’3″ tall and muscular with that angular jaw and dimples and a smile to die for. Yet Max was a true businessman, arrogant, bossy, and he didn’t give up till he got wanted he wanted. Max also has two brothers that rule his empire with him. Even though he could get any woman, he wanted, there is one that he never stops thinking about. The one that rocked his controlled world upside down. Faith had a way of bringing them back together, even if it was for one night. Max knew from the moment, he saw her, that strong desire for that one woman, that haunted him for 3 long years. There was nothing that was going to stop him, from having Megan Harrison back in his life. Being a powerful Billionaire, Max had enemies. Threats Max didn’t give in to them, but when they come after that one person, he cannot live without. Max knew he needed to protect her, and he needed to stop them, but at what cost.
This is my 1st book, followed by the conclusion in Billionaire’s Forgiveness. I never thought I would write a book, let alone a second one. But I realized that when you want something badly enough, there is no stopping you. Yes, you may have doubts and you may second-guess yourself when sending it to edit. Reading, re-written, rereading it, having someone read it. There is so much you need to do before you submit your final approval on the release to print. It’s scary, and I know till this day, it’s still frightening knowing your name is out there for the public eye to see.
I would talk about writing the story, and not once my family or friends thought it was a crazy idea. Derek – ( who is my partner) believed in me and he was going to give me that dream. I had no clue what to do. So I researched, who could help me publish my book. But everyone has a cost, this is not cheap, I don’t regret what I’ve done, but I’ve learned. I’m not sure about other authors, but that 1st book, that you work so hard on and you think it’s the best, it’s not. I know that now, but I still love the storyline that was finally released. Three years after I wrote it, it finally went live. I was excited and afraid no one would buy it, but my friends did. God Bless them.
In 2014 I was so eager, and stories were flowing through me. I never thought I would write one, let alone 5 manuscripts.
At this moment I’m re-writing Billionaire’s Rescue, Brandon Pierce story. And I’m hoping to get this out soon.
I hope you enjoyed my little journey on how I started. I’m hoping one day that I will be like those amazing women, my heroines that inspired me to write. Those ladies I mentioned above are a real gem amongst authors that have inspired me to follow in their footsteps. To at least give it a try and never give up on what you believe in.
Cheers
Love
