Chapter 1
Brandon Pierce never imagined that he would be surrounded by monotony. The fragrance of expensive whiskey, the clicking of champagne glasses, and people laughing and chattering around him. The ice sculptures, the finger snacks that no one appears to consume as the caterers walk by. Even the fragrance of costly Cuban cigars wafting through the faraway air troubled him tonight.
Pierce Enterprises gave back to the community, and this was another another event that I had to attend. Even the woman next to me couldn’t keep up with my icy demeanour. It was time for me to flee. I put my tumbler to my lips and blasted the last of my amber drink back. At the very least, the whiskey was delectable. I closed my eyes and pressed my finger and thumb across the bridge of his nose. If only I could be somewhere else right now.
With a sigh, I opened my eyes to see a well-manicured hand massaging my left thigh. I took a woman on the spur of the moment, hoping she would be able to deflect my thoughts. If only, she could stir something in me, to ease my tension, but she had no effect on me, and I regretted my decision of bringing someone along and should have come alone.
I had a pretty busy bachelorhood. Relationships took too much time and effort, so being alone had its advantages. Yes, the woman next me did little to pique my curiosity. On any other day, I would be all over her. But tonight I couldn’t care less about her, nodding when she asked a question, smiling, or making small conversation. Tonight, as one of the CEOs, I completed my responsibilities. I donated and socialised where it was needed. Now I had no desire or want to be with the woman beside me..
“What’s the matter, baby? Aren’t you having a good time?” As she squeezed my thigh, her voice was enticing. Purring with seduction.
So THIS SI WHAT I have fixed so far. changed a few paragraph. I think that Brandon Bachelor life is getting bored don’t you think?
