What you’re reading Thursday #3

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. So let’s get to it.  I’ve been debating on what to write from week to week, so I’m going to give you an excerpt of Billionaire’s Rescue.  I’m still working extremely hard to get this one finished but I feel as if I’m losing track of the story. It’s been a hard six months working on this novel and I feel I’m at a loss.
For those who have read Billionaire’s Love, Billionaire’s Forgiveness and Billionaire’s Mistake:  Brandon Pierce is the last of the brothers of the Pierce brother in Montreal. I love Brandon, because even though he can be a little arrogant, there is a sweetness about him. He’s the tallest of the brothers with those azure eyes and a smile to make any woman melt.  Don’t get me wrong, you might hate him at first but trust me, you will love him in the end. He’s so different from Max and Josh.
This is just a rough draft of the first chapter,

Billionaire’s Rescue

Brandon Pierce

Chapter 1

The smell of liquor, laughter, and people whispering around him. Even the smell of fine cigars lingered in the air, bother him tonight. Boredom surrounded Brandon Pierce. Another fundraiser he needed to attend even the woman beside him could not keep his interest. It was time to make his escape.  He raised his glass and shot back the last of the amber liquor, at least the whiskey was good. He pinches the bridge of his nose when he felt the woman hands on his thigh. Yup, that woman did not do anything to him. On any given day, he would be all over her. He loved women, being a bachelor had its perks. But now he couldn’t care less about her, he had no interest and wished he would have come alone.

“Baby, what is wrong, aren’t you having fun?” Her voice was seductive as she squeezes his thigh.

He smiled at her, trying to remember her name; this was a first for him. Brandon Pierce never forget someone’s name. Damn was it, Sylvia, Stella, Shirley why couldn’t he remember his dates name.  Brandon was having an off night. Being single was starting to wear him down, he wasn’t feeling himself. Could it be because his brothers finally settled down starting their families? He was the last of  3 Pierce brothers that were single. Well not the last if he thinks of include his cousin in Halifax, Nova Scotia. That family was even more significant than his own. Having a different woman every weekend was not cutting it anymore.  He smiled and looked at her. “Nothing wrong, sweetheart, you enjoying yourself. I hope.” Giving that smooth seductive voice that women love so much.

He leans in and kisses her temple, as she gave him a seductive smile. Yes, she was sexy, blond with a gorgeous body, but the attraction wasn’t there. Brandon believes that there had to be some chemistry when sleeping with someone. Now he would have to find an excuse because he knew she was only with him for one reason. Yup nothing, she didn’t get his blood flowing and the attention that it needed. Drink, another whiskey would do the trick, he had to get away from her; “You want another drink? I’m heading to the bar.” He stood and watched her hand run along his leg, giving him a smile. He could walk away, and let his chauffeur take her home but he thought better of it.  She nodded her head for another drink and went back to the conversation she was having.

Brandon walked through the crowded hall to get to the bar. The woman he spotted earlier that night was sitting alone. Brandon had followed her all night as she moved around the room with her companion at tow. He couldn’t help but smile to himself,  now she caught his interest! She was not the type Brandon usually went for, but her beauty would outshine every other woman in this place. He looked around, and her boyfriend or escort was not near. He strode towards her, moving his eyes up and down her back, that awakens something in him.

Brandon remembers when she entered the hall. His mystery woman had curly blond hair that cascades down her shoulders. All night he could see her dark eyes that look so mysterious, but yet he could see the sadness in them even from afar.  They both had something in common, they both didn’t want to be there.

She was wearing an off the shoulder navy blue dress showed off every curve.  Why was she sitting alone at the bar, when you had leaches like the man sitting beside her drooling over her.   Frustration started to build inside him, knowing she was alone to defend herself. Everyone knew a beautiful woman should not be sitting at a bar alone.

Brandon could see the man beside her trying to get her attention. Every time he touched her, she pulled away, it was a small gesture, but anyone looking would not see it for what it was.  Her boyfriend or lover didn’t give a rat-ass or appreciate her, she is a goddess. Brandon had watched them roam the hall all night, how could he leave her alone.

The closer he got to her, the more rage filled him not because of her, but because of the person sitting next to her.  Something inside of him wanted to protect her from all evil, and that man was the devil in disguise. Brandon could see she tried to ignore him, but there was no way to brush him off.  The closer he got, the more he felt like he needed to defend her. Yet, the man was relentless touching her, Brandon knew he had to step in.

“Mariotto, you heard the lady; get your paws off her?” Brandon did not wait for a reply and pushed him away from her.  Was it power or anger fueling him, he didn’t care, he wanted this bastard gone.

“You will pay for that Pierce! This is none of your business.”

“You being here I’m making it my business, haven’t you lost enough already; why don’t you leave,” Brandon growled as he looked down at this poor excuse of a man. Because of him, he almost lost his brother, not to mentioned his pregnant fiancee. The man he was looking at Antony Mariotto lost two sons that night at the cabin. His son’s Marco and Angelo held Megan and Max at gunpoint. The only way to save them was to take them down, which L.E.S. Luc Ellis Security did, they had no choice, it was them or Max and Megan. “Leave now or else?” Brandon growl as he steps up to him, forgotten was everything around him. Brandon only focused on one thing to get this man out of this place and beat the living shit out of him.  Brandon had to control himself, but the moment he felt it, a small hand on his arm. Brandon turned, and all thoughts of Mariotto gone. His anger subsided, Brandon rage he was feeling evaporated only from this woman touch. When he looked into the most beautiful chocolate eyes, he has ever seen.
